2015 End of Year Report
Auction News:
The tracks are closed for the holidays and Winter Auction will soon be upon us. For the first time since joining PF Circle F will be absent from the end of year chaos.Astrapios was sold in a private transaction with Otsego Farms. We retain breeding rights and have reserved first option should he ever become available for sale. The offer on him was simply too generous to pass up, though it broke our hearts to see him go. We retain Vortex and hope to receive another brother in the coming foal crop.
Compass Point folded mid-season so we retain Leukippe as well. We look forward to his time under CF silks. The purchase offer on Prince Stephen also dropped, though negotiations are still active on him. "Prince" shall remain at Circle F for the foreseeable future, though may stand his first stud season elsewhere.
We failed to acquire Exotic, though we did successfully bid for the Big Easy mare Meander. She'll be seeing Roll of Thunder in a pairing arranged thanks to the generosity of the team at BunnyHill.
Racing News:
Again with the management issues as our stock spent fall and winter in the barns and pastures. After Perfect Summer was injured in her Preakness bid all the fight went right out of us. Here's hoping 2016 sees a return to fighting form for Circle F.
Livewire, Light Touch, Aquia Harbor, and Swain's Gold all leave our string for the shed and the 2014 foal crop takes their places. We look eagerly ahead to the starts of Fission Spot, Saint George, Regal Bearing, Leukippe, and Ponce De Leon.
Breeding News:
In addition to retirements from Barn 2, we've seen imports from all corners of the globe into our herd. New arrival Meander is by the Easy Goer stallion Big Easy and out of the Chief Seattle mare WanderingAimlessly; we'll have to be careful of her pairings and her first for us will be by one of our favorite young stallions Roll of Thunder.
Including Meander we expect 17 foals in this year's crop. Some of the highlights include Yeager x Revotic for dirt, Moet x Eight Pack for turf, Swain's Gold x Latin Jewel for turf, and Perfect Goer x Perfect Affair for dual surface. We eagerly await the foals of some of our all-time favorite racers which include Zenno Rob Roy x Trojan Princess, Bellamy Road x Lexlenos, and Vampirical x Millenium Tower. Aqui Harbor will see Union Jack as part of the agreement on Astrapios. We had a lease on Mischief, but she was sold and the new owner declined to honor the contract; Swiss Lake will take her place to Likable American who has 2 other mares booked including one from Whisperwood. Civil War will see five mares this season, Swain's Gold will see two, and the others will see one a piece.
Moet and Hideaway books were won through the 2 y/o Tipping Winners contest graciously run every season by Miss Foxie.

I just found out that the IRL sire of my sister's IRL mare passed away in November; he has been added to the In Memoriam list. 2008 has been a tough year on the TB Race industry. Please take a moment to stop by and reflect on those from this great industry that are now lost to us. - Dec 2008
