BARN 3: Broodmares and Foals
The Broodmare and Foal Barn. AKA "The Nursery."
You may look, but please do not touch as some mommas and babies can be a bit nervous.
Please do not feed the lovely ladies in residence as they are on carefully prescribed diets. Nutrition is vitally important to a broodmare and any treats must be pre-approved through BOTH the shed manager and the farm vet.
Latest Mare and Foal News:
THE 2016 FOALS ARE ON THEIR WAY!
An amazing band of mares complimented by the best stallions we could find gives us mighty hope for the future.
Welcome to new arrival Baby Greyhound! She has been booked to (Hoosier Daddy's) Hideaway for a 2016 foal.
Congratulations to Revotic on first-born Unforgiv'n's win at Shanendoah!
Revotic will be seeing Olmo Dorato's champion Yeager this season. We missed our chance to send her to Bellbuster, but we think his son should do nicely. Many thanks for OD's generosity with his stud fee!
Our Maiden has been booked to our own Seattleswale. Both were very talented runners and we have every expectation that this foal will be of the best possible outcome. (A white coat will be a bonus!)
Memcay blood joins our gene pool and brings Alphabet Soup along for the ride!
Crazy Punctuation has been purchased at auction and is booked to CF's own Civil War.
Millenium Tower's first foal impressed us so much that we had to wonder what she could give if put to a "monster".
Spartan offered a deal too good to pass up and Millie is now booked to their champion Vampirical.
He can't seem to throw a bad foal and we eagerly await the result of this cross.
Sundance and lease mare Swiss Lake will be seeing Likable American for their foals this season.
Both something of an experiment, we feel they should pan out nicely.
Please Welcome Latin Jewel, recently acquired at auction. We've been watching this mare for some time now and are thrilled
to have been able to purchase her for such a low reserve. She will be the first in Swain's Gold's freshman band.
Danhill blood joins the herd with the acquisition of Dangold. This lovely light grey daughter of the very impressive Dansilver also brings Secretariat, Ack Ack, In Reality, Tom Fool, and a triple of Turn-To. We are very excited to add this beautiful representative of Family 23 to our stable. We virtually stole her from Bally Doyle to put with our own Bombed Out for a 2016 foal.
Perfect Goer will also be seeing Perfect Affair this season. We are very excited about this pairing.
Retirements have been announced for Light Touch and Livewire. They have been booked to Civil War and Copacabana, respectively.
Aquia Harbor will also see the shed and has been scheduled for Otsego Farms' Union Jack.
Eight Pack will see Newsham Lodge's champion Moet for what we hope to be a turf monster.
New mare Meander will see Roll of Thunder who now stands at BunnyHill.
We also have two full list pairings this season featuring 2 of our all time favorite stallions. Bellamy Road never fails to delight (especially since I know his breeder IRL) and we have elected to send the Irish-bred winner Lexlenos. "Lexi" has a very interesting pedigree with Mill Reef on bottom and Roberto on top (both in 3) and we expect this to be a bumper cross. TrueNicks seems to agree and rates the cross as "A". Another perennial favorite is Japanese champion Zenno Rob Roy - I've loved this guy for ages and shouted with joy when I saw he was available to add to the roster this season. He'll see family 23 representative Trojan Princess. "Jan" is another lined to Roberto with Bend Or on top. Jan is also a study in linebreeding and Rob looks to be a perfect compliment with Halo on top and Icecapade on bottom.
17 foals are planned for our 5th crop and we expect them all to delight.
